Official Opening of Landmark Building Philips
2009-11-24
|
Light Tower, Eindhoven (The Netherlands) |
On the 23rd of November the “Lichttoren” (Light Tower) was reopened. This old, characteristic Philips lightbulb factory in the center of Eindhoven has been turned into a multifunctional complex with a hotel, shops, lofts and companies.
The Mayor of Eindhoven, mister Rob van Gijzel and the General Director of Philips Netherlands, mister Harry Hendriks, both gave a speech at the opening.
The make-over of the Light Tower was quite a job. The engineers at Deerns designed technical installations that fitted the existing construction of the building and that support all the different functions that are now represented in the monument.
